THE WORLD OUTSIDE is coming out in just under a week.

And! It’s already been spotted in mailboxes and handsome hands of friends and family who have preordered the book and gotten a surprise delivery.

This collection of stories is a large part of who I am, as told through the various characters in my stories. They are broken, attacked, forgotten, and discarded. They are also on a quest of self improvement, attacking, remembering, and fighting to be heard. Just like me. Just like all of us.

The thing I’m most proud of about this collection of stories is it’s variety. It starts with fairytale retellings but goes in every direction possible, just like those purple arrows on the cover.

My first pro sale, the music obsessed apocalypse story (with bikers), “Number One Hit” is the first Science Fiction story in the book and only continues to swerve from there. I’ve always been fascinated by the stars and my ode to constellations, “Do What You Desire” is up next.

I’ve always believed my writing exists in the slipstream space, also known as “Weird Fiction.” I like mixing genres. I have a Science Fiction take on the Haunted House trope as well a Fantasy-dressed story about time in a cosmic setting.

There’s a little something for everyone in THE WORLD OUTSIDE. Come join me!

You can preorder from the publisher here: (I heard it ships fast)

ALSO!

I had a publication recently in podcast form. I love these!

My story, “No Words to Describe the Sky” was published by Manawaker Studio Flash Fiction Podcast. The style of the story is designed to mimic a Biblical parable, complete with religious overtones. Check it out below from Spotify, also available in the Podcast app on your iPhone (just search Manawaker)

And, one more announcement!, a story of mine will be included in the anthology, Even Cozier Cosmic from my friends over at Underland Press.

I did not submit to the first anthology in this series because I wasn’t quite sure what cozy cosmic horror really is. But then I read the anthology and loved it! And tried my best to come up with something for the sequel, which was accepted this week.

My Disney World-inspired story, “End of Line” will be appearing in Even Cozier Cosmic as well stories with friends of mine like Paul Jessup, who blurbed my book, and Devan Barlow, who was in an issue of Truancy with me in 2019.
